ASM Links
[edit]I removed about 20 inline external links, all ASM website links, moving a few to the external links section, while the others can be accessed through the main site for the organization. Also edited for a more encyclopedic/less advertisment style. This should bring the article more in line with wikipedia guidelines, so I've removed the wikify and cleanup tags, leaving only the reference tag. Outside references are still needed in order to balence this article. Nihola (talk) 03:45, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- This seems like the right thing to do, but Google throws a fit when I try to get to any of the links other than the ASM index page, claiming that there's a malware risk. Got any insights into that? Seems like an odd place for malware. -- Bill-on-the-Hill (talk) 03:01, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
Professional Practices and the Academy of Microbiology
[edit]Could somebody edit this article? In 2011 the American College of Microbiology was removed from the American Academy of Microbiology and placed into a new program unit called the Professional Practices Committee. The details can be found on the website at: http://www.asm.org/index.php/professional-development/professional-practice-committee.html
I would do it myself, but as an employee of the ASM that would be a conflict of interest.
Anyone?

Financiation
[edit]I would like to see a Wikipedia section that presents in detail and transparently the financing of the ASM to prove the independence of the ASM (and its studies) from possible influencers.
Otherwise, I do not believe that the ASM is trustworthy. best regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.243.166.131 (talk) 11:57, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Microbiology Spectrum Draft
[edit]Hello editors, I'm Geoff. I work for the American Society for Microbiology. As such, I have disclosed my Conflict of Interest here, as well as on my Talk page. Per Wikipedia policy for connected contributors, I will not make edits directly to articles about ASM or its journals.
I am here today to ask if anyone is interested in reviewing a draft of an article about one of our journals, Microbiology Spectrum. If so, the draft can be found here. I understand that the article is shorter than usual, but I believe it qualifies under notability for academic journals because it is indexed by SCOPUS and Science Citation Index. Many of our journals already have entries on Wikipedia, and our goal here is to offer content that improves the encyclopedia by helping to fill a gap. I'm committed to following community guidelines, and am open to feedback.
Please feel free to reach out with comments and questions here or on my Talk page.
Thanks so much! Geoffhunt3 (talk) 21:40, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
